Insured Mail Provides coverage against loss or damage up to $5,000 for Parcel Post, Bound Printed Matter, and Media Mail matter as well as merchandise mailed at Priority Mail or First-Class Mail rates. Items must not be insured for more than their value. Insured mail must be presented to a retail employee at a post office or to a rural carrier. After you are done shopping, and decide you would like to insure your order, look at your order subtotal and then choose the correct level of insurance. Insurance starts at only $2.20 and goes up slightly as your order subtotal gets larger. You will notice that the menu will add on the correct amount to the original $2.20.
